Gretna Outlets offers us the chance to spend the first part of our day shopping at the super discount stores in this border shopping centre.
 
We then continue on to Dumfries
 
Dumfries is a historic market town that more than lives up to its local nickname, the Queen of the South. Located in the southern region of Dumfries and Galloway and connected by lovely russet-hued sandstone bridges which straddle the banks of the River Nith, this former royal burgh has an interesting history and special connection to Scotland’s National Bard.
A day trip to Dumfries is one to remember. The town boasts more than its fair share of historic gems too !
